Artist Statement
Long ago alchemists quested for the philosopher's stone,
which, people said, was there all around us,
though no one could find it.
I say this stone might just be another name for happiness.
And the camera is the magic tool I use to uncover happiness from the world we live in.
Born in Tokyo. Studied photography at Eikoh Hosoe’s workshop/photography school, and worked as photographer and photo editor for the magazine “Yu” at the publisher Kosakusha. Also as an experimental film artist, entered the work “Still Movie” in local and international film festivals.
Worked as freelance commercial photographer for a long time.
Solo Exhibition such as ”Star of the Stars” The Center for Fine Art Photography, Fort Collins ,U.S.A. 2011 and many more Solo Exhibition and Group Exhibition in Japan and abroad.
Award such as PX3 2010 Second Prize in Fine Art People and many more.
My prints are sold at Susan Spiritus Gallery(U.S.A.) and Micheko Galerie(Germany)
