TOMÁS CASADEMUNT (Barcelona, 1967) has a B. A. in Communication Sciences from Universidad Autónoma de Barcelona (1993), and studied at the Instituto de Estudios Fotográficos de Cataluña (Barcelona, 1988).
PROFESSIONAL EXPERIENCE
He worked from 1986 to 1991 as a photojournalist for El Punt newspaper (Gerona, Spain).
In the Eighties he traveled widely through Central America, doing reportage work for several Spanish magazines.
In 1989 he spent six months in Havana, working on a series of portraits of Cuban musicians, published in his book Son de Cuba (1992).
From 1992 to 1996 he worked for Cover photo agency, both in Spain and in Mexico.
Since 1995, Mr. Casademunt resides in Mexico City, where he works as an independent photographer. His work encompasses different domains and themes: journalism, advertisement, architecture, industrial and editorial photography.
In 2006, he was awarded with a three year fellowship from the Sistema Nacional de Creadores of the Mexican Cultural Ministry. (2006-2009, 2012-2014)
