Introduction
Since the beginning of the 1990s, Tiina Itkonen has been searching for her own Ultima Thule, place in the Far North. She traveled to Greenland first time in 1995 and since then she has traveled regularly there to spend time with and photograph people and Polar landscape.

Tiina Itkonen lives and works in Helsinki, Finland. She studied photography at the University of Art and Design in Helsinki. Since 1995 she has traveled regularly to Greenland to photograph polar landscapes and people.
Her work has been exhibited in Venice Biennale in 2011, The Biennale of Sydney in 2010, The National Museum of Photography in Copenhagen (Denmark), Kunstmuseum Wolfsburg (Germany), New York Photo Festival in 2009 and Ludwig Museum in Koblenz (Germany) in 2007. Her photographs are also held in many permanent collections including Moderna Museet in Stockholm, Fundacio Foto Colectania in Barcelona and DZ-Bank in Germany and Statoil Collection in Norway.
