Bathing Time – Swimming pools from the turn of the century
I’m photographing swimming pools in Germany that were built around the turn of the century (1900).
The co-existence of original and redeveloped areas in the baths convey “past time”, which is the focus of this work. The baths create space for the encounter of young and old; many users grew up with “their” swimming pools.
Time seems to have stood still.
This work is meant to be a homage to the bathing culture in its original sense.
