Ever since I can remember, I’ve longed to take photographs of Nichols, South Carolina. It was my favorite part of the trip to my grandparents’ house in Calabash, NC. I would stare out of my back seat window at the views that this rural southern town had to offer my eyes. Now that everyone is grown up, our family renunions are less frequent and so I make that trip less often. So, I knew now was the time to photograph it. To preserve the memory of the many trips to the beach, and to explore more of Nichols than what my young eyes saw through the back seat window a few times a year.
