Artist Statement
The act of photographing intensifies my seeing and sense of being in the world. It is always a very personal and intense moment of contact, one in which I feel a deep and exciting “yes.”
Making my art is an expression from the soul that awakens and expands my feeling of connection with the world.
Process Statement
I make my photographs with and 8x10-inch view camera, expose on 8x10-inch sheet film, and hand-process to highest archival standards. Each negative is contact printed on gelatin silver chloride contact printing paper. This insures a very long tonal scale and extreme clarity.
