Artist Statement
* Theme 1
"Life and scenes in the Mongoloid-cultural bloc."
I was born in Japan and spent 10 years in Mexico during my youth. My experiences with the native Mexicans' culture, which has a Mongoloid background, stimulated my interests for "Mongoloid people".
* Theme2
"Power of IMO (Shakti)"
The word IMO is a usage of old days Japan which describes a wife, a sister or just simply a woman.
As an alternative word of IMO, I am trying to use "Shakti" which is a Sanskrit word referring to the Cosmic Feminine, used in Yoga philosophy.
* Theme3
"In between"
Inbetween area where we cannot devide to Yin or to Yang, I feel there is a huge potential enable to traffic the both side.
Process Statement
I use several different process of photography depending on the theme and images that I want to make.
* "Salt prints" by myself on Japanese Gampi paper sometimes glued with metal leaf from it's back.
* "Archival pigment prints" by myself.
* "Platinum prints" by my printer.
* "Lambda prints" by my printer.
