I have been creating works on various kinds of maternal love.Is maternal love something all women posses?
Does all women display maternal love when they bear a child?
After having a daughter, my maternal love grew through close relationship with the child. I felt a maternal love was born within me when we built a relationship of mutual trust. My maternal love changes its face ever minute. Sometimes it shows warm and selfless love but changes to cold and possessing obsession.
In my heart, I must want to keep my daughter mine. Wanting to keep her beside me forever and not separate. I must feel secure if I could tie the umbilical cord again and have her back in my womb. But if I do that, I wouldn’t be able to see the wonderful world she is seeing. Capturing the scene in front of my daughter’s sightline could an act to feel her existence and respect her personality.
What is maternal love all about?I hope to express it through photography.
