Teachers of the world
Introduction
During a world trip in 2011 I started a project about teachers and visited teachers in several countries in a privat atmosphere. We had talks about teaching and the power of education. I also took portraits of these impressive personalities.
Mount Everest Trekk
Introduction
In Oktober 2011 I walked the Mount Everest Trekk and took pictures of one of the most impressives landscapes I ever saw. I shoot digital, but I always liked the touch of analog film. I decided to give the digital pictures the look of my favorite BW-Film (Kodak Trix400) and at least I printed this pictures on Hahnemühle William Turner Fine Art Paper.

Process Statement
I learned old school in a darkroom, but know I like the possibilitys of the digital photographie. But still I knew a good eye is more than the knwoledge about photoshop tools.
I am working mostly with a Nikon FX System and Carl Zeiss lenses.
Michael Wagener, born in Olpe/Germany in 1976, studied art and german literature at the University of Siegen/Germany (1996-2001). In 2002 Michael Wagener worked as a assistant for the commercial photographer Simon Puschmann in Hamburg and the Animation Company TriKK 17. Since 2003, Michael Wagener has been working as a lecturer for digital photographie and documentary photography at the University of Siegen, Oldenburg and Flensburg. He is also working as a visual artist in Siegen. Since 2005 he has a parttime job as an Art-Teacher at a High School. In 2010, Michael Wagener received the call for a membership to the the German Photographic Association (DGPh). In 2011 Michael Wagener works on free project during a world trip and also as a free photographer for the french online-magazine micmag.net.
