California-based artist Malcolm Easton seeks to bring new life to objects of unknown provenance and little evident value. In his recent series, “Keepsakes of Strangers”, he creates temporary assemblages of found objects and photographs them as if they are masterworks.
Easton’s work has appeared in numerous juried group shows including those at New York's Seligmann Center, San Luis Obispo Museum of Art, Orange County Center for Contemporary Art and online in The Photo Review 30th International Photography Competition. Upcoming (9/16) is his two person show at Viewpoint Photographic Art Center, Sacramento CA that will feature his latest work.
Among others, his images have been published in The HAND Magazine, The Daily Photograph, Duncan Miller Gallery online and La Fototeca blog. In 2013, Easton received a Juror Award of Merit in Still Life from the Grand Prix de la Découverte competition. He is an invited member of LensCulture and ArtPhotoIndex websites.
