Artist Statement
I find myself seduced by the sheer physicality of the world
Half the day spent behind screens of various shapes and sizes
Out in the world I am drawn to a particular situational aesthetic
Some sort of desolation, crisp focus, even light, etc
The best images are familiar and alienating
Fitting somewhere between online and off
Jessica Williams is an interdisciplinary artist born in Alaska and based in Oslo, Norway. Working primarily with photography, writing and new media, her primary concerns are physicality, language, and relationships. She has had her work featured in several international publications and has exhibited widely including solo shows in New York, Glasgow, Oslo, Malmö, Barcelona, and Austin, Texas.
