Artist Statement
The Canyon Effect is a geographic narrative where Pacific cool and Mojave heat collide over the southern Sierra. The resulting moisture is quickly evaporated, except in the canyons where canopies of giant oak and sycamore shield against a relentless sun, giving life to the valley below.
Jeff’s photographs were included in two group exhibits sponsored by the Location Managers Guild of America: “In the Zone” at the Pacific Design Center in 2003, and “Concentric Circles” at the Beady Minces Gallery in Venice in 2008.
In 2011 The Rose Café/Gallery in Venice CA exhibited “Elements/Winning Sky” the first in a series of Southern California landscapes.
In March of 2012 “Elements/Seascapes” was shown at the G2 Gallery/Venice CA. A podcast interview hosted by G2 gallery’s Jared Nigro interviewing Jeff can be heard at http://www.theg2gallery.com/podcasts.html

In August of 2012 images from the series “Sunbathed” were included in the Rose Gallery’s exhibit “The Neighborhood: Venice & Santa Monica”.
