Artist Statement
Probably one of the most impressive photographs I have seen came by surprise when as a child I opened a large book to find
pictures of the great carpet of stars and constellations that extended forever - and here I was in Chicago's South Side.
I am here and the vastness was out there somewhere. How were the two ends going to connect? But they did connect in an instant of awareness. No explanation seemed necessary. This is the sacred moment that I wish to bring to the life of my work.
