Artist Statement
I've been been mainly interested in photographing space. What interests me the most in my photographic work is the possibility of an unclear narrative. I like this capacity that photography gives of interpreting reality in a different or unexpected way. I want to trigger the viewer’s imagination: what strange story is happening here? I like to think that the viewer will feel, more than rationalize, when looking at my photographs.

 

 

Inês d'Orey has a degree in International Relations (Minho University, 1999) and a degree in Photography (London College of Printing, 2002).
She received a scholarship from Centro Português de Fotografia between 1999 and 2002.
Inês won the Fnac New Talent prize in photography in 2007.
She has been frequently publishing and exhibiting her work in Portugal and abroad since 1999.
