Guy Tal is a professional photographic artist, author, educator and public speaker. Born and raised in Israel, Guy served in the Israeli military, studied and taught at the Tel Aviv University. He immigrated to the Unites States in 1996, owned an IT consulting business in Silicon Valley, and served in management roles at various companies for nearly two decades before leaving the corporate world to pursue a career as a full-time artist and writer.
Guy resides in a remote part of Utah, in a high desert region known as the Colorado Plateau – a place that inspired him deeply for much of his life and that continues to feature in his images and writing. In his photographic work Guy seeks to articulate a reverence for wildness and the role it plays in his life. He considers his images the equivalents of journal entries, encapsulating stories of his explorations and intimate impressions of meaningful places and events in his life. He writes about, and teaches, the values of living creatively.
Guy’s work appeared in publications around the globe, including LensWork Magazine, Outdoor Photographer Magazine, Popular Photography, Digital Photographer, PhotoLife and others. He is also the author of essays, books and a popular blog.
