Artist Statement
My practice explores contemporary street photography by digitally compositing together multiple moments to create fictional narratives. These images investigate both classical photographic theory as well as the characteristics of the digital medium through the use of composite imagery and spacial manipulation. The resulting photographs can be characterized as tableaux of the everyday; narratives which lay just beyond reach of the possible.
Process Statement
I make upwards of 400 photographs of each scene then later combine moments from different frames to craft a narrative of the everyday. I selectively add and remove figures throughout the image based on factors such as compositional continuity, gestural impact, and narrative semblance.
