Artist Statement
I have been using photography, moving image and sound installations to explore subliminal constructs of time, existence, and memory. Often echoing themes of quantum theory and Buddhist philosophy, my work is a personal inquiry into the nature/perception of reality, and the physical, psychological and spiritual dialogues that inform it.
Process Statement
Constellations (2011..) is a current and ongoing series of photographs (and soon, video) that I have been developing while on residency in Berlin. Using footage gathered from my travels over the past few years, as well as some that I source online, I construct new images in Photoshop using methods of digital collage. They represent existential, poetic landscapes (of both the mind and the physical world) where different narratives of time, geography and consciousness co-exist.
