Artist Statement
My photography is about visual exploration. It is a celebration of the Earth and its interaction with human-made elements. It is also my attempt to discover the universal landscape: those places that, while separated by cultural or political borders, are united in their importance to all people. This universal landscape serves as a common language that reveres all things.
Process Statement
A camera is the photographic artist’s brush. My camera of preference is the Panon Widelux. Other cameras
are employed to enhance the texture of communication. In all cases, the instrument has been
used faithfully.
My images are about seeing the world beyond what is in front of our eyes. Many films are used to make this possible. The most common is infrared film.
How to use our image viewer
Click on any of the thumbnail images to launch the viewer. You can then navigate forward and backward within the portfolio by clicking the left or right side of the enlarged image. Click the add to collection checkbox to automatically add an image to your collection. Image tags or search engine keywords appear below the collections' checkbox and each word or phrase is a link to potentially more image matches.
