Introduction
Created during the years of 2011-2017, Nearest Neighbor features
commonly used public spaces, institutions, infrastructures, and the
individuals that exist within them. It is a log of our surroundings;
our schools and churches, our parks and businesses, and our homes.
Nearest Neighbor is the first book by Canadian artist
Eric Thompson, using contemporary photography to capture his view of
the world, more specifically his perception of the United States as a
foreigner of close proximity.
