Artist Statement
I am interested in notions of liminality and our place in the world. My work addresses the physical implications of materials and a questioning of human interactions within shifting boundaries and borders. Most of this work is usually represented via photographic means though I do use other materials at times. Concepts that I often employ reflect thoughts about time and space, elemental nature and human survival, travel, and memory.
Process Statement
Touching the medium is key to my process with photography. I use multiple exposures in various ways as well as chemicals and staged situations or paradigms that allow things to happen to the print/film. These are often made with analog materials as the actual film/paper needs to exist for the process to happen. The result is then scanned and printed in a limited edition of 6 in the main series and 3 in a larger (often double) size.
