Artist Statement
West's images, designed with the intention of arousing intense curiosity-champion the medium.
While this is a case of a picture being worth a thousand words, Dean points out
that the multilayered images allow viewers to analyze the process of digital photography itself, which
incorporates surrealist collaged objects and perfectly manicured poised models caught in mid-air.
These magical realist scenes of Greek mythologies and modern archetypes leave the viewer enraptured
in a world we dream and fear.
Within this chaos each image captures an ephemeral moment of beauty. Allowing the models to
maintain their dominance to which the audience is unwittingly subjected.
