American Faith explores the common human need to be connected to something greater and the various ways this need is manifested by individuals throughout the United States. The project spans from 2004 - 2010 and records both visually and through audio interviews the personal nature of the word while revealing the larger commonality that it represents. All made with a 8x10 view camera there are breaks from portraiture as we see expansive landscapes that reflect the geographical scope of the project. The body of work as a whole comes together is a subtle intuitive way that allows the viewer to think about the idea of faith as something larger then religion. Something that is accessible to all and is in fact, an intricate necessity to the human experience.
