Process Statement
I create all my work with a Hasselblad H1 medium format camera and a PhaseOne P65+ (60 megapixel) digital back for exceptional, high-resolution image quality. All photographs are offered in small limited editions as archival digital pigment prints. Only the finest inks and acid-free rag papers are utilized in the production process. All printing is done under my supervision in sizes ranging from 20"x24" to 40"x60".
Brad Wilson's early education in the visual arts began at The University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill where he studied art history and studio art - mainly painting, sculpture, drawing, and architecture. From there he moved on to both the Maine and Santa Fe Photographic Workshops to focus exclusively on photography, before settling in New York City in 1992. In New York, Brad worked with a number of notable photographers and then began his own career in 1996 in the commercial and fine-art genres.
His work has been widely published around the world, appearing in numerous advertising campaigns, magazines, annual reports, music packages, and on over 400 book covers in the U.S., Europe, Asia, and South America. For many years his fine-art images were shown and sold by Robin Rice Gallery in New York City. He is now represented by Doinel Gallery in London. In 2004, Brad moved to Santa Fe, New Mexico where he continues his photography surrounded by the beauty and tranquility of the southwestern deserts.
