Artist Statement
From the moment I picked up a camera I knew I had found an important means of self-expression. For me photography has been a way to satisfy my curiosity about the world. My subjects have been varied, from music to fashion to professional sports to aerial landscapes to portraiture. A working photographer for 50 years, I consider myself blessed to live such a wonderful life of “mixing business with pleasure.”
Process Statement
For most of the photos in my music archive I used a Nikon-F and its subsequent variations with 35mm Kodak Tri-X film developed in Acufine. Back in the day I developed the film and made silver prints in my own darkroom. Currently I have silver prints made in Santa Fe by Alissa Marquis at her f22 studio. My platinum prints are made by photographer Chris McCaw of San Francisco.
