Artist Statement
This series is currently a work-in-progress that encompasses the gathering and collecting of materials that were left to me by ones who have passed. Old photographs, record albums, books, stamps, and more sit in boxes for me to document. I want to show the separation between myself and the material goods that I don't quite know what to do with after I photograph them. The scope of my work continues to explore personal psychology and altering perceptions of common experiences between siblings, while investigating the construction of memory, and the always-evolving definition one's “self.”
Process Statement
These images were photographed with a Nikon D700 using strobes. All work prints are 10" x 10" and exhibition size is 22" x 22" x 1.5" framed (image size 20" x 20").
